With wary, guilty movements, jerking
After the last trails of radiance before
Its midnight arms finally embrace the room.
Moonlight spills through the window,
Gleaming in happiness as it plays across the floors,
Dancing with the shadows so forbidden,
Unknown, unspeakable horrors said to lurk
In the protection of this gloom so hated.
A silvery thread of the moon's luminosity
Trails across the floor slowly, sadly,
